We Fight Monsters

Operation Southern Star

$10.00

At We Fight Monsters, we believe in the power of transformation, resilience, and hope. We stand as a beacon in the heart of South Memphis, providing shelter, treatment, and care for trafficked women and addicts who have been forsaken by society.

Today, we bring you the story of Star, a radiant 29-year-old mother, a survivor, a fighter, and an indispensable member of our community. Two years ago, Star was living the nightmare of street life. Through our assistance, she broke free from the chains of her past and has been volunteering passionately, striving to help other women escape the torments she once faced.

Last week, Star's journey was abruptly halted when an attempt on her life left her with physical scars, and a shattered spirit. Currently, she is living in unfavorable circumstances, unable to have her children with her, and unable to work due to her injuries. Additionally, a break-in at her mother's place left them without a vehicle, disrupting their only means of commuting. Despite these adversities, Star's spirit remains unbroken, and we stand firmly with her.

But we can't do it alone. We need your help.

Star urgently needs a reliable vehicle and a safe apartment for herself and her children. We are fundraising to cover the costs of a vehicle ($2,500) and six months of rent for a safe, two-bedroom apartment ($6,000). We are also setting aside funds to supplement her grocery needs, as she is awaiting food stamps for her and her children ($450 per month).

Your donations will not just provide Star with immediate, tangible relief, but will also help her regain her independence, dignity, and the opportunity to continue her noble work with us. Any amount, big or small, will make a significant difference.

You can also donate non-perishable food items or used cars in good condition.

Together, we can ensure that Star, our beacon of hope, shines bright once again. Remember, when we fight monsters, we fight not just for one person, but for a better world for all of us.

Thank you for your time, your kindness, and your generosity.

We Are The Dead

We are the Dead is a sister organization to Flanders Fields, to carry their mission to those encountered on the streets, on the dope track, in the prisons and in the hell of addiction or sex trafficking who aren't veterans. Nobody on the Flanders team will step over the dead bodies of civilians to save a vet, but within the confines of the charter, funding can only be allocated to veterans. The need to stand up a second org focused on non-veteran funding for rescues and recoveries was immediately apparent, and to date, the Flanders team has been funding these efforts out of their own pockets, but no more! We are the Dead gets it's name from the same poem by LtCol John McCrae that Flanders Fields got it's name from, which reads in part: "

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields."

We are here to restore life to those who were once dead to their addictions and the streets, for we were once the dead ourselves.
